This
article is a review about the book named Jane
Austen, Game Theorist.
Jennifer Schuessler mentions the important points in the book. She quotes
what Mr. Chew who is the author of Jane
Austen, Game Theorist
says in her review article. This text is very useful because it shows the main
idea of Jane Austen, Game Theorist. The
examples mention in the article can be used in my research paper as evidences
to support the main idea. My purpose is to find the manipulation in the movie
of Pride and Prejudice. The examples
help me to find it.

Prejudice." K@ta 14.1 (2012): 1-5.ProQuest. Web.

This article talks about the “male gaze” and
the “female gaze”. Generally, people consider more about the “male gaze”. Women
are the objects of men’s desire. Women need to shape themselves to satisfy men.
However, Jane Austen criticizes this thought. In Pride and Prejudice, Jane Austen gives priority to “female gaze”.
This article has three parts that are introduction, analysis and conclusion.
Two authors firstly introduce what are gaze and eye. Then, they analyze how
Jane Austen portraits the “female gaze” in the book. Finally, they draw a
conclusion. This test is very useful because of its honest perspectives. I can
use the analysis part as a door to explore manipulation in it. Liza has the
“female gaze” but her mom Mrs. Bennet ignores the “female gaze”. This conflict
may show the reason why people in that time want to manipulate their children’s
marriages. The analysis part addresses my topic by causing the conflict so that
I can know the reason why game theory exists in the marriages.
