Progress 4 (Research Proposal)

Research proposal
Introduction
1.     Using an example to talk about the manipulation in present marriage. It is very common. (http://voices.yahoo.com/signs-declining-marriage-control-manipulation-1282253.html)
2.     Show some statistics to illustrate that the manipulation is common. (I need to find the resource.)
3.     Manipulation does not exit at present. It has already been discussed in Jane Austin’s novel Pride and Prejudice.
(Ps: I am not sure what I plan to write in the introduction part can be the introduction of the whole research paper. I need your help, Dr. Marquardt.)
The purpose of the study
1.     I analyze the manipulation in the Pride and Prejudice through the status quo. Quote the content in the article. (http://www.nytimes.com/2013/04/23/books/michael-chwe-author-sees-jane-austen-as-game-theorist.html?_r=0)
2.     Purpose statement: The purpose of this case study will be to develop the game theory in the marriages displayed by the female characters in Jane Austin's Pride and Prejudice
3.     My research question: What does the game theory mean in Pride and Prejudice?
My sub questions:
a. What is the game theory?
b. How do the behaviors the female characters have in the Pride and Prejudice reflect the game theory in the marriages?
c. Why the game theory exists in the marriages at that time?
(Ps: I do not know where can I put my research questions. It is my try to put them here.)
Definition
1.     Game theory
Nature and limitation of the study
1.     The proposed study follows a qualitative research approach. As for the method, I have not decided yet. I think the interview may be useful.
Design of the study
Setting
1.     The setting is when the Jane Austin writes this book because I need to study the reason why the manipulation exits in the marriages.
2.     I choose the study the film rather than the book because the time limitation.
Research perspective
1. Literature review (I need to find more sources.)
Research design and procedures
1.     Do literature review according to my sub questions.
2.     Interviews (maybe) Interview ten people who has watch the film and the fans of Jane Austin.
3.     Combine their opinions and my opinions

While writing this proposal, I am worried because I am not sure that my thoughts are right. Could I use the resources from the any website as long as they are useful? Please have a workshop or talk about the proposal individually.
